Holly Ferrell, LMSW
Psychotherapist
With a background in psychoanalysis and motivational interviewing, Holly approaches each client with deep empathy, compassion, intrigue, and – above all – awareness of each individual’s expertise in their own life and experience. Being a guide in the therapeutic endeavor is the approach she takes with each client, regardless of circumstance.
Holly has worked in diverse clinical settings helping clients who face challenges or seek growth in an array of areas such as anxiety, grief, depression, relationship issues, life transitions, and launching adulthood. Holly has developed a focus in maternal health care and women with substance misuse. Holly also specializes in supporting adults and their partners in transition to parenthood. Holly’s life experiences, including motherhood, help her bring an empathic energy to her work with parents and its potential to enhance and enrich her therapeutic practice.
Prior to becoming a therapist, Holly spent time in the nonprofit industry, fighting for LGBTQIA rights and environmental advocacy. She also held tenure at a natural foods corporation providing education and advocacy for plant-based living and an empowered lifestyle movement. Lastly, she is a certified yoga instructor who believes in the integration of mind and body and its potential to enhance wellness and the therapeutic experience.
Holly holds a Master of Social Work from New York University and B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies (Peace Studies, Eastern Religious Studies, and Philosophy) at the University of Missouri – Columbia.
