Matthew Roque, LMSW
The collaborative process is fundamental to effective psychotherapy; It is the essence of how therapist and client do constructive and positive work. In my practice, I partner with my clients, and together we explore aspects of their identity to construct a narrative that reflects past experience and future possibility. The goal is to lead to change that is meaningful for them.
My philosophy is grounded in anti-oppressive, identity-affirming progress and my approach, while rooted in psychodynamic theory, is eclectic. I combine both relational and cognitive behavioral modalities to move clients forward to a desired outcome. I have extensive experience serving the LGBTQIA+ community and have worked with clients to resolve a variety of issues ranging from anxiety and depression to relationships and identity.
The Therapy Collective is an IHI-approved LGBTQ+-affirming mental health services provider.
While we are currently virtual, our practice hopes to return to hybrid services, with in-office and virtual services in the near future.
