Michelle Chan, LMSW Candidate

Social Work Intern

I see myself as a partner in helping you achieve the change and growth you seek. With compassion and care, I tailor my work to your individual needs and draw from approaches including;  Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).  I enjoy using a variety of techniques to help my clients integrate new ideas or schemas. The more you understand, the more empowered and in control you will feel!  Connecting in a meaningful way with my clients and working collaboratively is fundamental to my therapeutic approach.

I work with kids, teens and adults working through issues related to stress, anxiety, depression, mood challenges, sexuality and identity, loneliness, grief, and school and work problems. Many seek support with difficulties within friendships, romantic relationships and families.  My therapeutic style is relational, trauma-informed and culturally sensitive. I prioritize my clients rather than their diagnosis, working to help take a holistic approach. I always love to bring a little laughter to my sessions, as humor can make a big difference.

With curiosity and openness, we can work together to help you discover more about yourself and begin to create healthy change and growth.
